YHFF™ MASTERCLASS: The Insolvency Service – A look at the Live Investigation Team’s work in investigating Covid fraud

Wednesday 6 July 2022, 14.30

We are delighted to welcome David Usher and Dr Catherine Templeton of the Insolvency Service to the July Masterclass hosted by YHFF.

This masterclass is a highly practical and intensive afternoon session that will look at the various aspects of Covid fraud investigations undertaken by the Insolvency Service’s Live Investigations Teams. The masterclass will provide insight into some of the mechanisms by which individuals have attempted to take advantage of the pandemic response to enrich themselves, and the work being done by the Insolvency Service to hold them accountable.

David Usher – Chief Investigator, Insolvency Service

David has many years’ experience investigating active companies, firstly as an investigator and now as an investigation supervisor based in Manchester. He sees communications as a key element of investigations – knowing what to ask of whom, when, where and how to do that. Give him long enough and he will communicate his support for Liverpool Football Club to you.

Dr Catherine Templeton – Senior Investigator, Insolvency Service

Catherine has worked within Live Company Investigations for 4 years and has taken a lead in Covid fraud investigations since November 2020. Prior to investigating companies, Catherine was used to investigations of a different kind in her work as a structural biologist. Luckily for her, following the money can be just as intriguing as following the molecule.
